Original Oil Painting Little Is Good

Hello Everyone,

This is a 5” X 7” original oil painting I completed early last year. I started doing these smaller paintings maybe a little less than two years ago to help give my selection some variety. I wanted to appeal to people that liked my work, but were hesitant in this economy to add $500.00 to their credit cards. (as well they should be)

Small paintings like this were my answer to possibly not selling anything or very little.

To my surprise, my 5” X 7” and 6” X 8” paintings were my most popular in 2023. 8” X 10” did really well and some 9” X 12” pieces also sold.

Looks like a trend. People had no problem paying $43.75 for an original 5” X 7” oil painting completed on hard wood.

The US economy goes through its cycles every so often and I may have stumbled upon a way to keep my sales going in the leaner times like the one we are currently in. Even when the economy begins to recover, I will still offer these smaller paintings. They are very popular with the young, college going people and they are a whole lot of fun to create.

For some reason, the smaller size is less intimidating to begin even though they are possibly a little more difficult to execute because of their size. Whatever the reason, these smaller pieces have found a permanent home with me.
