“How About A Little Green In That Sky”

Hello Everyone.

I hope everyone has had a wonderful week now that it is winding down. This piece was a splendid surprise. When I initially sketched in the scene with a 2" brush and very thin paint, I laid in my tree lines in the distance and middle ground before putting in the sky. Now normally, I lay in the sky so it is easier to add elements without muddying it, but this time, I got carried away with the sketch and just forgot. Thank you Jesus for that. I laid in the sky and allowed it to muddy up, especially with the greens. I mean, what is worst case scenario? I wipe it off, let the hard wood to dry and start over in a week or so.

As I was laying in the sky it started looking really cool to me. Once I started blending it, I really started liking it. It seems to bring so much atmosphere to my composition.

So, I have changed my ways with all of my work. I sketch out the scene first and put the sky in whenever it feels right, and if by chance, there is green in my sky, oh well. I love it.

Have A Blessed Day
