Original Oil Painting, “My Waters Shall Refresh Thee”

Hello Everyone,

Here is a new original oil painting I just completed last week. I call it

“My Waters Shall Refresh Thee”

The whole reason for the title, to me, is obvious. I created this composition with a very limited pallet of colors. I wanted simplistic harmony within the colors I chose to use and I also wanted to emphasize the greens and blues.

Greens and blues are very soothing colors to the human psyche and I wanted to convey a fundamental calmness to this piece. My goal, for this composition is to have the viewer have a sense of calm come over them when viewing.

I have that same goal really with all of my work. I have a full time job as I build my art business. My wife also works full time. We have a mortgage, car payments and credit card debt, the same as everyone else.

My hope, and my objective every time I step in from of my easel is to give the viewer a break from the everyday stress life relentlessly throws at us and give them a sense of calm.

If you have not guessed from the titles I give most of my paintings, I am a Christian. I do not preach, but I do believe in Spirituality and the power people can get from that Spiritual sense. My paintings are not Spiritual on their own, but I do believe God is present and helps me create the work I do.

Whether you believe in God or not, believe in the power of peace, the power of calmness and the power of ones own spiritual quest. It’s a journey we all must take through out our years, but it is also a journey we can easily share with our fellow humans in this world.

When you finally find that peace, hold onto it with all you have, and share it with everyone who needs to make sense of their own journey.
